About Us

Dr. Howell brings a rare dual perspective to aviation medicine. A current Captain on the Airbus A321 at Delta Air Lines (previously Boeing 717 and 737), he understands the demands of professional flying firsthand.

After flying 727s for charter and cargo operations and joining Northwest Airlines, Dr. Howell pursued medicine during a furlough. He earned his MD from LSUHSC in New Orleans (2004–2008), completed Emergency Medicine residency at LSU (2012), and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.

As a Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner and HIMS-certified provider, Dr. Howell is dedicated to helping fellow pilots maintain their medical certifications while prioritizing safety and well-being.
